I wanted to pay homage to Henri Matisse’s painting “La Danse”.
I called it “La Danse III” because Matisse painted two.
The sinuous movements of Peter Griffin’s body make the picture harmonious even if the colors were Matisse’s strong point.
The frame of the early 1900s is made of wood and plaster and has no imperfections.
The shapes are in hand-cut plywood and painted with acrylic colors.
